ANIMAL WELFARE PROJECT:
2008 Scholarships Available to Humane Police Officers
(Valley Forge, PA. February 12, 2008) --- Animal Welfare Project is
a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, whose mission is to professionally
re-train homeless horses and dogs. They will be adopted back into
the community as pets, sporting competitors, or work in Community
Service (Search & Rescue, Therapy, etc.). Animal Welfare Project
is currently based out of an office near Valley Forge, as they continue
seeking a farm property to call home.
Their annual October fund raiser, "Bark In The Park," held
in Schwenksville, PA, has successfully raised funds in its first 2
years of existence. As a result, Animal Welfare Project is again offering
scholarships to shelters who have candidates wishing to become Humane
Police Officers.
In an effort to reward standards of professional excellence, which
in turn improves animal welfare, high standards have been set for
applicants. These standards include at least 10 years of animal
experience, prior to becoming a Humane Police Officer.
Those who are already badged and working as Humane Police Officers
may further qualify for continuing education; notably "Equine
Investigations Academy" or "Cruelty Investigator"
certification.
Scholarships are valued between $900 to $2,000, depending on the
candidate's interests and qualifications.
Animal Welfare Project is a 501(c)(3) organization. Memberships
are $20 annually. For more information, please contact: Animal Welfare
Project, P.O. Box 987, Valley Forge, PA 19482. (267) 249-5762.
